Chicago Loop Bars - Chicago, IL

Monk's Pub

The owner called the pub Monk’s after a monastery he resided at one summer as a kid. It was so inspiring of a stay, that he vowed if he ever owned a bar he would call it Monk’s so he did when he established it in 1978. The look of Monk’s is reminiscent of the monastery with its solid wood doors and brick walls, along with beautiful chandeliers. The patrons are mostly people coming in after work for a bite and a brew dressed in suits and skirts. The beer list is very broad and very delicious. The mixed drinks are tasty and very strong, and nicely priced. Even while busy, the staff is very quick and eager to accommodate with a great attitude and smile, and are very knowledgeable. Its welcoming place and could be your next place to hang out.
